About us
Essence is the international study association for the Avans School of Life Sciences and Environmental Technology (ATGM) faculty at the Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda. Our student association is mainly focused on the Environmental Science program, but of course everyone is welcome. We aim to bring students together and provide them with a safe space for academic growth, social interaction as well as helping the international students get acquainted with Dutch culture.

The chairman is responsible for internal affairs of the ESSENCE Board and the way the board operates.
The role of the secretary is to keep the student organization organized, to take notes during important meetings and promote events on the socials.
The treasure is the person responsible for all financial aspects: including, membership details, payments and the coordinator and contact person for sponsorships.
The event manager is the main responsible for event organization within the study association and establishing a activity committee.
Our sponsors
In order to ensure that the members of our association are able to get the full experience, we are in need of sponsors. For this, we are always excited to receive sponsorships and create partnerships with companies and organizations that are interested. One of the biggest benefits is that students connect with our partners when searching for internships in the future.
ESSENCE is thankful to de Kater Breda and Coyote Breda for their partnership! Without these businesses, the activities planned during this quarter would not be a reality. Not to mention, ATGM faculty for allowing us to host an epic final event! The Halloween party would not have been the success it was without your subsidy. Last but not least, the ESSENCE activity committee for organising and preparing such fun activities this quarter!
Our committee
The committee of 2022-2023 consist out of the board members and six other members. The team is responsible for all events the Essence organizes. From an idea, a plan to an event - this team makes it possible.
